Roll Models is my platform for sharing the enlightening stories from my life in an effort to fulfill my mission to help others. It began initially purely as a speaking program. I figured I could go to schools, churches, and other youth groups and tell my story. This was a great start, but in my mind it had two major drawbacks. First, it seemed impersonal and one-sided. I did not like that even though you would hear my story, I would never hear yours. Also, I would have no way of knowing whether my message hit home. Second, and this comes from the psychologist in me, those individuals who need help with specific issues would have difficulty benefiting from a general type talk, but instead would need more targeted, one-on-one help. I wanted to help those people too.
As I always do when trying to solve a problem, I spent countless hours reading, meditating, brainstorming, and conversing in an attempt to solve these two issues. Personal coaching was a logical addition to my services that would allow me to use my experiences, education, and skills to help people with specific issues. As I developed that skill set, I started to merge my speaker skills with my coaching skills, and the result was my consulting services. In consulting, I speak on a specific issue, but to a group. By adding these two services, I resolved both reservations I had with Roll Models, and the program as you know it was born. Roll Models allows me to pursue my mission to help as many people as I can by giving them the tools to live happy, successful lives.
